Putting Manny on the map

Following on another UK adventure for street food. I travel down south through the cold weather of the city Manchester. Manchester has a bunch of new different restaurants to spread their diverse taste of food. Sometimes it can be a a struggle to pick a place to eat t because there’s so many options. I got about to try the hole-in-the-wall Fat Pats and the amazing Soul & Surf. These places are definitely standouts and I think it will put Manny on the map!

Fat Pat’s

Our first stop in Manchester was Fat Pat’s, located in Chinatown. Noticeably, these guys are the one putting Manny on the map. This isn’t the easiest to find knowing that it is a literal hole in the wall in an unknown alleyway. Although, I see this as good thing for people like me and you, not having to wait for big queues. I have been many times and it never fails to impress. They only sell 3 subs along with sides of chips. However, the classic order is their Philly Cheesesteak. The cheesesteak itself is a must when in Manchester. The £14 you pay is worth in exchange of portion size and the taste of the cheesesteak. Everything taste so fresh and the sub roll itself is another thing, they bake all their milk rolls fresh every morning before they sell out to customers.

Soul & Surf

Soul & Surf has established its restaurant in Great Ancoats Street, only a 20 minute walk from the centre of Manchester. Soul & Surf finds itself opening up to serve a fusion of West African cuisine and a blend of soul food. As soon as you step foot into the place, you get taken into a much happy and vibrant setting. Often feel a tropical scenery. In order to experience the best of the best, I got the Soul and Surf special. Which includes lobster tail, King prawn and chicken wings. Sides are jollof rice, Mac and cheese, chips, plantain and coleslaw. This is pretty much everything you need to try all in one plate. Everything was spot on. I was very happy. I was scared the lobster may have been over cooked just by the colour it turned out but it was actually very tender and succulent. Jollof rice was very warm and had a good spice with a sweet like tomato taste. Very impressed by everything including the staff, it comes to no surprise why this place is busy and has massive interest from celebrities.
