Alleyway finds of Hong Kong

Image
Fresh home, fresh home! The place where it bring back many great memories for myself. Hong Kong known Asia’s financial city and capital city of food. Hong Kong offers a variety of different foods that will cover different cuisines around the world. Kam Wah Cafe & Bakery I start off with a visit to a local Cha Chaan Teng aka straight-forward dining which was introduced in the 50s-60s for cheap and western like meals to working class people.  The wonderful pineapple bun with a slice of butter called as Bo Lo Yau was my choice from their menu. It was an irresistible treat for the taste buds, especially in the late morning.  It was a subtle contrast between the very light sweet of the bun to the salt of the cold butter. This I think will leave a long lasting impression on people new to Chinese bakery.  It's hardly the healthiest option, but who cares about calories when you're indulging in such a delicious creation?  I also try their Hong Kong style milk tea (nai-cha). This is

Putting Manny on the map

Following on another UK adventure for street food. I travel down south through the cold weather of the city Manchester. Manchester has a bunch of new different restaurants to spread their diverse taste of food. Sometimes it can be a a struggle to pick a place to eat t because there’s so many options. I got about to try the hole-in-the-wall Fat Pats and the amazing Soul & Surf. These places are definitely standouts and I think it will put Manny on the map! Fat Pat’s Our first stop in Manchester was Fat Pat’s, located in Chinatown. Noticeably, these guys are the one putting Manny on the map. This isn’t the easiest to find knowing that it is a literal hole in the wall in an unknown alleyway. Although, I see this as good thing for people like me and you, not having to wait for big queues. I have been many times and it never fails to impress. They only sell 3 subs along with sides of chips. However, the classic order is their Philly Cheesesteak. The cheesesteak itself is a must when in

Chi-town Finds

Chicago is also known as the windy city, Chi-town and Chiraq. Chicago is the third largest city in the States and is home to the creation of the in famous deep-dish pizza which has then began to diverge into squared pizzas where it is loved by locals. My cousin and I embarked on a quest to experience the rich and long-established Ricobene’s as well a visit to Smoque BBQ in Chicago. Ricobene’s Ricobene’s has been around since 1946 and since then they have been known for many of their popular dishes including their pizza, steak sandwich and chicken wings. However, on this particular visit, our eyes were set on Chicago’s iconic staple - the breaded steak sandwich. today we were on the move for Chicago’s staple dish the breaded steak sandwich. Once again with many of my reviews, the venue was packed, resulting in a longer wait than we had anticipated.Although it was all worth it in the end as the wonderful Sally offered a medium deep-dish pizza to compensate for the wait. This overall, mad

LA’s Street Food Walk Of Fame

Image
The city of Los Angeles known for their movie and music industry is surrounded in an abundance of food bustling flavours. We commence with the legendary fast food chain on the West Coast also known as In-n-Out. In addition, as Los Angeles is nestled closely with Mexican cuisines, it reaches out to have the most authentic Latin American food in the city. We later discovered Leo’s taco truck on the infamous Hollywood Strip. In-n-Out The first stop was the notorious burger chain In-N-Out Burger. While In-n-Out may not fit for traditional street food, the iconic establishment is strictly reserved within the Sun-kissed West Coast of USA. When we walk in you could instantly feel the classic retro American fast food scene straight from the movies. For my order, it was mandatory to experience the double double. You could instantly tell the double double was delicately crafted to be aesthetically pleasing. A few bites took place and all I can say is fresh goodness. Everything was made to perfec

Comfort From Glasgow

Welcome my fellow foodies, this is my first blog on Travel, Taste, Repeat. Within the blog, we offer a variety of food reviews so please tuck in and get ready for your hearts and more importantly your taste buds. Here we will dive deep into the local food spots in and about Glasgow. Glasgow has a renowned reputation for its well-cultured and diverse food selection. Two locations I have picked are Shawarma King and Pho 79. Shawarma King First, we start strong with the award-winning kebab house in Scotland aka Shawarma King, located in the city centre. The tantalising aroma of roasted chicken and the scent of charred lamb meat met me even before I passed the door, giving me a welcome entrance to Middle Eastern cuisine. Arriving at 14:35, I thought I'd beat the lunchtime rush, but to my surprise, the place was packed with eager diners. 'Are you in the queue?' reverberated in our ears long before we held onto our sought-after shawarma.   As we neared the checkout, our excitemen
